Client Objective:
In early 1998, Charles Schwab &
Co. approached vivid studios with a project to
redesign the news and community section of the Schwab intranet site.
Their goal was to give Schwab employees quick and efficient access
to news and information that could help them best serve their customers.
Schwab's intranet management team also wanted vivid
to help them create an online place where employees could gain a
sense of community and share in Schwab's corporate culture during
a time of rapid growth.
vivid Implementation:
After representatives from Schwab
and vivid decided on the name @Schwab, vivid
created designs based on extensive research and examination of Schwab's
desired brand attributes for the internal news and community site.
The design and technology solutions
provided by vivid were focused on the needs of
the site's users, as well as the editorial and technical staff.
vivid created a prototype and workflow documents
with the goal of enabling Schwab's staff to easily update and maintain
the site. vivid's information designers provided
Schwab with a flowchart which maps the site architecture and describes
the site's layout, navigation, and feedback loops. vivid
supervised user testing sessions and measured users' reactions to
the site's visual, information, and interaction design. Feedback
from the user testing sessions influenced the final site prototype.
The visual designs and back-end engineering provided by vivid
are helping Schwab's intranet management team offer a valuable news
and community building tool that helps Schwab employees better serve
their customers. |
