| Once their application is approved, the customer can sign their policy and pay for it online. They can pay their initial policy payment with their credit card and then specify if they want their card to be billed monthly once the policy billing cycle takes effect. After coverage has started, the policyholder can access information about their account using their own password-protected personal page. Here they are notified about policy changes and promotions, and can also download supplemental forms. Policy renewals can be completed in this section and an automatic email notification system provides customers with updates and reminders about account changes. |

HealthAxis is an umbrella organization
for three businesses with existing web assets. In some cases
the original work was re-mastered to accomplish new levels of
functionality, particularly the state mechanisms now available
to prospects. In others, the engineering team developed HTTP
mechanisms to draw content from the various sites, and then reformat
it for use in the new site. vivid's engineers also integrated
the transaction mechanisms with legacy applications used by policy
administrators. Additionally, using custom third-party tools,
they devised a new means of securing inter-process communications
to the legacy system via Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
