Objective:
Bank of America's
new advertising campaign launched during fall 1997 promises to,
"Put your life in Motion." BofA wanted vivid
studios to help them convey that idea through a redesign of their
homepage on the World Wide Web. In addition, the homepage had grown
a great deal with the bank's offerings over the last two years so
BofA and vivid both took the opportunity to freshen it up and make
it clearer.
vivid Implementation:
vivid
worked with BofA to update visual elements and add functionality
that enables visitors to see more of the deep content contained
in the BofA website without leaving the homepage. vivid's
engineers created JavaScript rollovers that facilitate
the display information as visitors move their cursors from one
block to another in the center illustration. vivid
also redesigned the top banner on the homepage as well as the buttons
that point to other areas of the BofA website to unify the page
more, create a more sophisticated look, and highlight important
information, while allowing the amount of text on the page to recede
from prominence. During the redesign project, vivid's designers
and engineers paid close attention to BofA's goals of showing themselves
as a strong banking presence with a warm and friendly side while
continuing to serve a large, varied audience. vivid
will continue to work with BofA to help the bank determine its long-term
strategy and objectives for their homepage.
