Producers Group Jobs

Like camp counselors (minus the whistles and poison ivy), vivid's Producers make sure that everybody gets along, plays fair, and shows up for Arts 'n Crafts on time. In addition to budgetary and scheduling matters, producers are also responsible for team and client management, writing proposals and requirements documents, resolving conflicts, facilitating project post-mortems, and taking everyone out to celebrate when the project is finished.

Senior Producer
Ongoing

The Senior Producer is responsible for managing large, multi-phased web development projects. This role requires both project-specific and client partnering competencies. In the project-specific arena, the Senior Producer must have extensive experience managing large teams of diverse professionals and must understand and be able to coordinate web strategy, design, and technology. This person must also have budget and scheduling capabilities with considerable experience bringing projects to completion on time and within budget.

As a client partner, the Senior Producer works with client teams and third-party vendors in a consultative relationship--interpreting, defining, and implementing business solutions. Candidates must have experience with -- and a strong understanding of -- business structures and client dynamics. They must also be able to effectively manage new business priorities presented by clients in fast-moving business sectors.

The Senior Producer role is primarily billable, with approximately 75% time spent on a project. Senior Producers will typically manage one project, most commonly using a phased development approach -- strategy and conceptual phases followed quickly with rapid prototyping and implementation phases. In certain situations, however, Senior Producers may be involved in several projects concurrently.

The Senior Producer is expected to be a leader within the Producerís Group, proposing and developing new development processes, adapting new approaches to client and team management, and adding or improving project deliverables. Mentoring more junior members of the department, both on project and off, is also required.

This role requires strong collaboration with Department Managers, Business Development Leads, and Web Strategists.

  • Experience establishing working environments that are creative, collaborative, productive, supportive, and fun.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

In addition to the above project management requirements, Senior Producer candidates must have significant experience and mastery in at least one of the following areas of specialization:

This person will work with Department Managers to set and track team member responsibilities. They will conduct risk and opportunity analysis and control; provide leadership in dealing with conflict resolution, decision making, and team interaction; and monitor and facilitate communication among all project participants.
