High-Tech Hollywood

San Francisco's vivid studios, the company that developed Sony New Technologies' Johnny Mnemonic online game, has teamed up with Microsoft to launch a World Wide Web sleuthing game called Bethany, TX.

Like Johnny Mnemonic and the Internet game that Sony launched in conjunction with its film "The Net," the new game will offer prizes to winners. Grand prize will be a Packard Bell computer system.

In order to qualify for the prize, gamers must compete before Sept. 7.

Bethany, TX can be played using a standard Internet browser. Microsoft has made its Internet Explorer available at no cost through the company's Windows 95 Web site.
