NAMES Quilt Online

The NAMES Project Foundation has teamed up with vivid studios to bring the AIDS Memorial Quilt to the World Wide Web.

The Foundation's Anthony Turner says "The Quilt's power to raise awareness about AIDS, to challenge complacency about the epidemic, and to soften hard hearts and open closed minds will be greatly increased by its presence on the Web."

vivid designers have created the site as an information repository and community gathering place. The site will list tour dates for the Quilt, present details of various panels, and provide links to organizations fighting AIDS.

San Francisco's vivid studios is one of I.D. Magazine's 1995 Top 40 Design Firms. The NAMES Project is seeking financial support for the Web project, which debuted on Dec. 1 at http://www.aidsquilt.org.
