VIVID EMPLOYS WEB GAME FOR VTN DEBUT

by John Evan Frook

San Francisco-based vivid studios is employing one of its tried-and-true Web gaming techniques to launch its Vivid Travel Network (VTN) -- first reported in IAD Media and Marketing Report on Wednesday. It announced late Thursday plans to stage the Vivid Travel Challenge - a `Net hunt that awards the faster Web scavenger a trip to the `96 Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta.

To debut at Spring Internet World `96 on April 30, the game is designed to build interest in VTN - vivid's just-announced Web travel network. Central to vivid's effort to build the global VTN travel broadcast network is a plan to license technology and marketing methods to Web developers, cable companies and telephone companies worldwide. The licensers become local affiliates of VTN, publishing local, advertiser-sponsored sites on the network highlighting local tourist and business travel destinations.

The Travel Challenge marks the first exposure of VTN to the Web business community. The network is scheduled to come online before the end of the year. Additional details can be accessed via http://travel.vivid.com.
