Meredith Texada Accounting Manager
It's an ugly job, but somebody's gotta do it. No, no, no, we're not talking
about selling Tupperware. We're talking about something far more sinister:
a life that offers hope to desperate men and women, but soon forces them
down the path of eternal misery and suffering. Meredith entered the dangerous world of accounting in 1989. The deeper she got in, the more she felt the death-grip of credit and debit tugging at her. "I- I only wanted to balance the books," she sobs now. "I didn't realize you could get hooked on the stuff. But suddenly, tallying up the balance sheets wasn't enough. So I experimented: I tried LIFO and FIFO and even some of those "designer" inventory techniques. And... well, you see where it got me." Her
warning words to youth thinking about a career in accounting? "Don't
do it, kids. If it doesn't kill you, it'll ruin your life in some other
way. Stick with a nice, safe career like rock star or helicopter pilot." Meet the rest
of us. Home |
