Kevin Sonnichsen Visual Designer "That kid must have scribbled on every scrap of paper in the house." - Kevin's Dad. It wasn't long before Kevin figured out that scribbling on paper could actually turn into a career. By the time he was 18, he had spent years as a commercial artist designing everything from technical schematics to theatrical sets. A 6-year veteran designer in the Seattle theater scene, Kevin graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 1996 with a degree in Theatrical Production. The interim years found him playing with his band Kicking Edgar in Seattle while supporting his theater habit with technical illustration gigs. Eventually, he could no longer deny the inexorable draw of computer graphics and embarked on a career in 3D computer animation. He packed his bags and moved to San Francisco in October of 1998 It was 3D animation that brought Kevin to San Francisco, but it is the web that is keeping him here. After a short stint as an instructor at Mesmer Animation Labs, San Francisco, he was picked up by Bank of America Interactive as a project coordinator. Eventually he wound up on vivid's doorstep and quickly moved from Experience Group Coordinator to Visual Designer. Kevin
spends his free time traveling, exploring the world through the lens of
his Pentex K1000, writing a screenplay and occasionally revisiting his
musical career.
