Sophie Henry Information Designer The only thing you really need to know about Sophie is that she is French, a fact she likes to remind everybody of as often as possible. Sophie has a degree from the National Superior School of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics in Grenoble (ENSIMAG), in the beautiful French Alps. Having damaged her knee while skiing during her second year there, she had no other choice but to study and specialized in networks, systems and real-time software. She decided to go see if life on American campuses was really as it is depicted in sitcoms, and ended up at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, where she completed a Master of Science in Human Factors Engineering. Her thesis was on designing a point and shoot camera for people with severe hand disabilities. Sophie worked at Hewlett-Packard for more than 4 years where she engineered, managed and produced many projects in the home PC business. Tired of the eternally beautiful weather of the South Bay, she joined vivid in the San Francisco fog, hoping to cast away her geekness and blend in with the cool people there. Sophie enjoys singing, hiking, and camping, but her favorite hobby is still eating and drinking well with good company. She hopes her liver will make it back alive from Prague where she will be for New Year's Eve in hope of avoiding the Y2k bug.
