Andrew Sandler
Information Designer

Andrew arrived at vivid studios after journeying through the "Dark Side" of government defense and Navy contracting. After earning his B.S. in Cognitive Science at UC San Diego, Andrew went to work for the Naval Health Research Center in Point Loma, prototyping and testing displays for the next generation Navy Tactical workstations. He left the Navy to work for a Navy contractor, designing user interface for the newest version of the Tomahawk cruise missile's Command and Control system. Along the way, he picked up more acronyms than he knows what to do with (MATHKWTDW).

Andrew has been a member of the American Century team since he began at vivid. From two hours after he arrived through the door to be exact. He is assisting in the development of online applications for several different types of American Century accounts and a couple of innovative tools to allow users to better manage their financial information.

Andrew is a member of the International Council of System Engineers and is constantly debating about finally joining the ACM and BayCHI.

When Andrews is not designing revolutionary interface for websites, he is very fond of escapist behaviors, like reading really good or really poor science fiction or playing simulations on his computer for hours. He used to be a reasonably good rugby player, until he discovered that black eyes and stitches make clients a little uneasy. He just bought his first pair of inline skates and is desperately trying not to break his neck.

Meet the rest of us.
