Alexandre Quin started his career writing Lisp programs to customize AutoCad functions at an architecture firm in Rio de Janeiro. After that, he worked for a multimedia development company, where he had his first contact with the "new world" of interactive media. That seemed to be an interesting thing to be working with, and since there were not many people doing that in Brazil, he decided to start his own company. The transition to web development happened naturally. He successfully developed projects for Gillette of Brazil, Parker Pens, Fleishmann Royal, and the Brazilian Navy. Alex played many roles while running his company: he was the systems administrator, the analyst and the developer at the same time.

When things seemed to be calming down, he decided to change again. He came to California to work with the latest technologies and help develop state-of-the-art web sites, and in February 1999, joined vivid. When he's not deep in the throes of backend development, Alex enjoys playing soccer, riding his bike, seeing good movies, and partying.
