Nate Mordo Buildmaster Having grown up with a computer in the house since the age of five, Nate is naturally comfortable around technology. He started programming BASIC on his first computer, an Apple II+, and also acquired a penchant for computer gaming that has continued to be a driving force in Nate's computer interest to this day. During his pre-college years, Nate was introduced to modems (2400 Baud!) and began exploring the proto-Internet world of BBSs. Nate's first experience with an actual Web browser (NCSA Mosaic) led to his first awkward attempt at Web authoring. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in psychology, Nate's next move was to the Bay Area to work on the cutting edge of new media development. After a brief, one-year stint with Miller Freeman (www.mfi.com) working on several of their Internet properties, Nate left his financial district office, drawn by the know-how and culture of vivid. Nate
has been working at vivid in the role of Buildmaster
since September 1998. During this time he has built sites for clients
such as Scient, FinAid, HealthAxis, and the Webby Awards. Nate's experiences
working on the Scient site allowed him to experiment with and learn Microsoft
NT server technology and work with ASP (active server pages) to generate
dynamic content. While developing FinAid, Nate worked with PHP, a free
server-side scripting component that also enables dynamic content functionality.
Nate's goal at vivid is to fully realize and integrate
the often ambitious (and complex) goals of the client, the visual designer,
and the producer, while creating sites which are user-oriented and informative. Meet the rest
